Director of Coaching - The Super Soccer Academy

Direcotor-Bill AdmasBill Adams was born in England, into a footballing family. One uncle played for Arsenal, another for Bolton Wanders. He was educated in the UK at the Universities of Oxford, Essex, and Leeds. He played good quality amateur football in the UK for a variety of teams including the Suffolk Police.

He qualified as a Football Association ‘C’ coach in 1976, and coached the Essex University Team. In 1984 until 1992 he was employed part time by Leeds City Council as a Community Coach - This involved travelling from Youth Club to Youth Club coaching children and teaching youth club staff how to teach football. He became a registered assessor for the FA’s Soccer Star Search Scheme.

Bill came to India in 1992. He found that the School PE teachers were ruining his son’s footballing ability, and couldn’t find anyone who was coaching modern football in Delhi, and so started coaching his son and his friends. Starting with 9 children the numbers kept growing and so in 1998 he launched a company The Super Soccer Academy Private limited. Soon he was employing 5 coaches and numbers had risen to 280 a week. He was Founder/Director of the India Youth Soccer Association and developed leagues that had 800+ children competing every week for 17 weeks a year.  He has been a Football Consultant/PE teacher trainer to several prestigious schools from Srinagar, Assam, Doon, and Shimla, to Indore and Bhopal.  He has run workshops for PE teachers on how to teach modern PE, and for school managers on how to introduce modern PE into schools in India. 

Bill has good links with U.K.  professional clubs and coaches and brought a contingent from Aston Villa to India.
 
He has contributed a the large section on ‘Soccer and Education in India’ to a book entitled; “Indian Soccer: Past Present and Future” which was published by Frank Cass in the UK in October  2001

His next book is entitled “The Tao of Soccer”. It shows how soccer can be used to teach children (and parents) the principles of ancient philosophy.  He has had many articles published on the need for modernisation in Indian Physical Education and football.

He is an Expert Football commentator/presenter for Headlines Today TV channel.

He is the author of an International best selling book, “The Five Lessons of Life” which has been published in twenty nine countries by Random House, UK. Ltd.

He is a Personal Management Skills Trainer  with graduate and post graduate qualifications in Social Policy and Social Change, Social Sciences (Social Psychology. Industrial Sociology) and  Education (Post Grad). He is a UK qualified teacher of Behavioural Studies and  Communications.  . He has managed innovative NGO’s and  taught at various Universities in the UK. He has also worked for  (amongst others), the UK Civil Service , Phillips TV, Birds Eye Foods (Unilever), Suffolk Police Constabulary, and Marks & Spencer Ltd, in the UK.

 Bill has written scripts for the BBC and copy for numerous prestigious clients. He has compeered professional entertainments and has acted in a TV mini series and several  movies. (He turned down a part in Largaan!) Also, from time to time  he can be heard voicing TV and Radio advertisements. He has written three critically acclaimed plays for children, and  articles on education and soccer for UK and Indian Newspapers.
